Alghero is a town rich in history, its monuments testify the importance that the Catalan city has had over the centuries. Still today, it is strongly linked to its past and his roots belong both to the Sardinian and Spanish tradition.
A city well known for its architectural beauty, the majestic ramparts that surround it, but also for its natural beauty, the famous caves of Neptune, the beaches, the cliffs overlooking the sea, the beautiful backdrops. The historic center is a constant source of surprises with shops, bars, restaurants and craft shops.
A unique environmental heritage. The Porto Conte regional park, founded in 1999, covers fifty thousand hectares of coat and hinterland of Alghero. The territory is mostly flat and includes 60 kilometres of shore: sandy beaches alternate with steep cliffs. Its southern limit is the Calich lagoon, the “lung” of various animal species.
Since 2002 it has included the Capo Caccia marine area, fundamental for the preservation of Mediterranean biodiversity. There are bits of limestone rich with fossils, including the bones of an extinct variety of deer, and rare plants perched on coastal cliffs. On the steepest rocks, rare Gyps make their nests, while in Punta Giglio fly peregrine falcon, buzzards, barn owls and ravens. Overall, the park contains 35 identified species of mammals and 150 of birds.
A crescent of sand two kilometres long, whose thin grains with their particular dark amber colour, sometimes reddish, sometimes golden, are mixed with shells, set between the protected marine area of Capo Caccia and the head of the Argentiera.
The beautiful and deep bay of Porto Ferro is the northern limit of the Riviera del Corallo, a coastal enclave of Sassari, twenty kilometres from Alghero. Inside it "protects" one of the widest beaches of the impervious coast of Nurra, selected as one of the most beautiful in Sardinia by the Touring Club Italy
North of Porto Ferro, also in the territory of Sassari, you will find the enchanting Porto Palmas, also a Blue Flag beach, and Cala dell'Argentiera, surrounded by the industrial archeology scenario of a mine that was very active for centuries up until 1962, and exploited for its rich reserves of lead, silver and zinc.

The beaches of Badesi Mare are of uncommon beauty. Li Mindi is a wide beach of white sand graced with marvellous colours that stretches for kilometres on end, and over which the Coghinas delta passes, one of Sardinia’s most important rivers.

In the far northernmost tip of Sardinia there is an uncommonly beautiful large beach of white, soft sand, crystal clear water and colourful sea beds, making it one of the top destinations in Gallura, and not by coincidence used for several advertising campaigns.
The coastline is broken by the mouths of the Rio Cantaru and the RiuoCiuchesa, which "cut" the strip of sand into three parts, making the shore even more suggestive. It is rarely crowded and has been used for several advertising campaigns, including one with Australian actress and model Megan Gale. Behind the beach, a vast pine forest shelters you from the wind and offers a relaxing refuge on hot days
Marmorata is distinguished by a long stretch of fine white sand. There are two beaches, the first smaller called the Laurina (Marmoratina) on the beach it gently plunges into the emerald green waters, finding cool refreshment from the sun that warms it. Isola dei Gabbiani lies along the northeast coast of Sardinia, about 6 km from Palau. It stands on an area of about 180,000 m2, surrounded by the sea and joined to the mainland by a long isthmus of sandy land. Liscia, a beach eight kilometers long and with a surface area of 87 hectares, is the largest beach on the northeast coast.
The sand is coarse, of granite origin, and golden in colour. It provides clear water, and sandy, shallow beds. It looks onto the Maddalena and Caprera archipelagos and the islands of Spargi, Spargiotto, Santo Stefano and Budelli. It has several bathing and catering facilities. It is ideal for windsurfing due to the excellent exposure to northerly, mistral and westerly winds.

Between Porto Nibani and Cala Romantica, in the gulf of Pevero (once the gulf of Pero) there is a wide, deep bay of the same name with clear water and transparent depths. There are two beaches in the bay surrounded by Mediterranean scrub: the Grande Pevero and further north, the Piccolo.
The sand is fine and white and the water is emerald green, with shallow waters close to the shore. The beach is fully equipped with parasols, sunloungers and catering facilities. The gulf can be entered from the north, while those coming from the south will have to sail round the group of islands called Le Nibani, due to the shallows. The bay is popular with boat tourism and is safe shelter from the third and fourth quarter winds.
